Belated Check-in: 30 pages, 30 days

snoopy writer
Due to some toddler-inspired difficulties, I missed our Day 20 check in. But that just gave you more time to write!!

I'm still a little behind--about 5 pages--but I'm learning a lot about this story and realizing that it's going to require some research. So far, I've looked up NYC hot dog vendors, Macy's parade logistics and balloons, and Pakistani surnames. Bonus points if you can figure out my plot!!

We've got 4 days to go. I'm spending 3 of them at a writing retreat on Lake Champlain, where I plan to do as much as I can to resist using my baby-free time to nap. : )  Actually, I am going to crank out the rest of these pages and work on my proposal. And do yoga. And maybe drink some wine. Or a lot of wine. And hang out with very cool people.

What about you? How are you going to use the time? Are you meeting your goal?

30 Days, 30 Pages Check in!

updated photo
Hey, page-a-day-ers! It's time for check in! How are things going? Are you getting those 250 words down?

Time for a confession: the afternoon that I began the page-a-day challenge, I received copyedits for my second book. And they were due this past Monday. AAck! So, all my free time went to working on that and I fell a little behind--about 6 pages behind.

BUT--my copyedits are in and I am doubling my efforts to catch up. So here's a little cheer to get us going today. I've enlisted some help from Kirsten Dunst & co. in Bring It On for extra motivation:

G-O! Let me hear you say go!
GO!
P-E-N! Let me hear you say pen!
PEN!
W-R-I-T-E! Let me hear you say write!
WRITE!

Butt in chair tonight!
Sit right down and write, write, write!
Butt in chair tonight!
Sit right down and write, write, WRITE!!

Whoooo!!!!

So...how're you? Leave me a note in the comments and I'll post your progress here so we can cheer each other on.
